My name is Samantha Fannik, and this is my first year teaching. I am teaching 8th Grade Reading. I graduated in December from Minot State University with a Bachelor of Science in Education. My major is Elementary Education with concentrations in Reading and Middle School. After graduation, I substituted in Burlington and Minot until my daughter, Avery, was born in February. I was lucky enough to stay home with her and enjoy the milestones she has reached. I live in Minot with my husband, Casey, and daughter. We have a dog, Hemi, who is a Springer Spaniel mix.
During the school year, we will be reading both fiction and nonfiction novels. We will create projects and do as much interactive learning as possible. I am not a fan of sending home work unless there isn’t any participation in class or time isn’t being used wisely. I believe students should enjoy the evening at home without work after a long day of school:)
